It has been a year already since I posted my first blog. Time is flying by. In my first year as artist I have been working on many songs. I have published my latest release (Trance Now), which currently is my 7th release. In total there have been over 25.000 streams world wide and that is many more than I had expected.
Being proud of that? Yeah, sure! A musician has to start somewhere. Certainly when not (yet) spending a single dollar on advertising, marketing, or promoting of my own music. I am still standing here independently, trying everything on my own. Am I complaining about that? Not at all. I choose this my self. So far so good, but you'll never know what future might bring.
A year and a half ago I started my journey with my own music production company. I have been creating my website, publishing my first songs. Co-operated with a very cool singer (Lisa Donkers alias Lisa D.) and I am very proud on our projects Thoughts and Memories we have released together.
Furthermore I have been developing more skills on mixing and mastering. Not only since I desire to deliver music that you can feel (Feel what you hear), but also to enable my current and future listeners, fans, followers to enjoy music that connects (Mindfulness), delivers dreaming away (Thoughts) to places in your mind that bring harmony and peace (Happy Trance), make you remember nice music in the past (The Revival of Trance House) or things you suddenly remember (Memories) or give you a direct good feeling (Trance Now).
What I desire or would wish for in the end is that my music connects. I hope it brings back, or can support your memories, thoughts, feelings, emotions in the past, present and future. For each song that I ever have listened to did that for me. Still does by the way.
The power of music is very strong. Last summer I visited some of the Navajo's sacred places in Mesa Verde (USA). There I heard a tour-guide playing a melody from the past on a flute. It still gives me goosebumps in 2023. So for me it proves that the power of music can last for centuries.
Another location that inspired me (amongst many others) was visiting Yellowstone National Park. Experiencing all forces of nature at one hot spot it is! Water, fire, air, earth, wild life, boiling mud, smelling substances to be forgotten, trees burned down, all colors of the rainbow in minerals, sounds, viewpoints, and so on...
So many inspirations received to keep producing music, just by thinking back to that park. Who knows what music that will translate into. Trance Now certainly is the first that was released through that inspiration. It gave me some urgency, a kind of drive, to keep going on and I hope it supports you all to keep going on.
Not in the past, not in the future, but: now!
